First Car Accident, and I'm really confused...?

Yesterday i was driving down harbor in fullerton and i ped a red light without noticing the light, it wasnt until my friend pointed it out that i realized it. but it was too late and i hit the side of a car that was turning left. i sent 2 people to the hospital and it feels horrible...what i did was wrong, and i should have been more attentive. Aside from that i wasn't texting or using my phone or any other device, i was driving and i made a mistake. From what me and my friends saw, the driver and the pengers injuries weren't severe but they suffered chest and neck pains from the collision. i feel very guilty for what i did, and whats going to happen to me is the least of my worries. What worries me is what is going to happen to my mother, will they try to take legal action against her since the car was under her name? She's already stressed out from making house payments but it will devastate her if she lost the house.
